Certificate in Nursing
2½ YearsProgram Overview
Our Certificate in Nursing program provides comprehensive nursing education combining theoretical knowledge with practical clinical experience. Students are trained to provide quality nursing care in various healthcare settings.
Entry Requirements
- Must have passed "O" Level in English, Mathematics, Biology, Chemistry and Physics at least with a pass or D for candidates of the New Lower Secondary curriculum
- This MUST be obtained at the same sitting
- "A" Level is an added advantage
- Attach copies of both O' and A' Level results/certificates

Our Certificate in Midwifery program specializes in maternal and child health, preparing students to provide comprehensive midwifery care including antenatal, intrapartum, and postnatal services.

1½ YearsProgram Overview
This extension program is designed for enrolled nurses who wish to upgrade to diploma level, providing advanced nursing knowledge and leadership skills.
Entry Requirements
- Must have qualified as an Enrolled Nurse from a recognized Institution
- Must have a pass slip and a Certificate from the Uganda Nurses and Midwives Examinations Board (UNMEB)
- Must have a Certificate of Enrolment from the Uganda Nurses and Midwives Council (UNMC)
- Must have an experience of two (2) years in the field

1½ YearsProgram Overview
This extension program is designed for enrolled midwives who wish to upgrade to diploma level, providing advanced midwifery skills and specialized knowledge in maternal health.

Clinical Practicum Sites
Our students gain practical experience at leading healthcare facilities
Iganga School of Nursing and Midwifery has entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with major hospitals for providing our students with hands on practical experience.

Clinical Training Structure
- Each semester, students spend 8 weeks at practicum sites
- Remaining time is dedicated to block study and skills laboratory training
- Clinical mentors at hospitals provide daily supervision
- School tutors conduct weekly support supervision
- Students rotate through all hospitals during their training
- Performance evaluations are conducted after each placement

Your pathway to joining ISNM
Application Submission
Complete and submit the online application form with all required documents and application fee of UGX 95,000.
Application Review
Our admissions committee reviews all applications to ensure candidates meet the minimum requirements.
Interview
Shortlisted candidates are invited for interviews at the school campus to assess their suitability for the program.
Admission Offer
Successful candidates receive admission letters and are provided with enrollment instructions.
Registration
Complete registration process, pay fees, and attend orientation to begin your healthcare education journey.
